It is very simple. Check the documentation page about that, instructions and video.
To summarize the process:
If you have not modified/customized the files of your plikli 4.0.0, the best approach would be:
1- Download Plikli 4.1.0 and unzip the package.
2- Copy the files over the files of 4.0.0
3- Open the browser and navigate to your site, like an example http:localhost/mysite/install/troubleshoouter.php
4- If all the requirements are met, click on the Upgrade link in the top menu.
5- enter the table prefix (if you kept the default plikli_ then that would be the one, otherwise, it would be the one that you used upon installing Plikli 4.0.0 (you can find it in the Dashboard -> Settings -> Miscellaneous -> MySQL Table Prefix, or open the file /settings.php to get it, or from the phpmyadmin in the config table.
6- click proceed and follow the instruction, 2 more clicks and you are done.
