In new post the title and the text are empty.

I migrated today from Pligg to Plikli,
I use SEO1 method.
When new post are entered, the title, tags and text are blank.

I have to enter the edit to insert them again and then they are stored.

PHP 5.4
MySQL 5.6
plikli 4.1.0

error log: 20-Oct-2018 17:57:49 UTC] PHP warning: incorrect string value: '\ x92Asgi ...' for the 'link_summary' column on line 1 in /home/mhd-01/www.offertalink .it /htdocs/pligg/libs/db.php on line 479

Did you change the Character encoding of the database tables or columns?
This never happened before.

Is this happening with every submit or only some? Give me an example of the ones that leaves the title, tags and description empty

I realized that the problem exists if you use ' and " .
And I see that all the accented letters are wrong.

I dont'change the character encoding of the database , but it seems that the problem is just that.

How can I solve?

[update] if I open the database with phpmyadmin I see in general information "connection utf8-unicode_ci"

Single quotes (') and double quotes are not permitted in the Title or tags; they will be removed as soon as you type or paste them, but they are in the description and they should not cause any problem at all.

I don't think this is the problem.

Anyway, try this first. Change the database collation to utf8_general_ci and let me know.

I submitted what you said was not working for you.
description:
and contained the text "usa l'apostrofo"

Title: donazioni e solidarietà

It was submitted successfuly.

It looks so far that it is not from the application. I nned more information in order to narrow down the issue.

I solved by inserting [code]meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" / [\code]at the end of the file config.php .

now everything seems to work fine.

do you think that's okay?

Thank you for your help and for plikli

You are always welcome and do not hesitate to ask anything at all!

What you added:

1- is out of place and should not be added in the config.php. Check the source code and you will see that it is outside the HTML code.
2- The charset is already existing, and across all the pages, in the /templates/bootstrap/meta.tpl (when you view the source code of the document, it is under <!-- meta.tpl -->

I don't think that this is the problem, there is something else because I did submit exactly what you had submitted and the did not display until you edited the article.

Let's do this to narrow down the issue:

In your reply, paste these here so that I submit it again on my site:
1- title
2- tags
3- description

And we will test and follow up.

The problem seems to be the code of a snippet in head_start. turning it off everything works fine. But it's just a href with image.

It seems that the code in the snippet is incorrect and does not meet the requirements. It all depends on how you are using the code.
Are you using pure html and properly formatted?

You obscure the URL and the src of the image, convert all the code to htmlentities and paste it here or send it to me in a private message from your profile.

Firstly, the hook placement of the snippet is incorrect and out of place. The one you are using tpl_plikli_head_start insert the code in the HEAD HTML element <head></head>

You have to choose the appropriate hook, for example if you want it to appear at the top of the page, select tpl_plikli_main_col_start

Secondly, there is no need for the {literal} {/literal}. You only use them to wrap a <script> </script>

Sufficient instructions about that is at the top of the Snippets module in the dashboard.

Thirdly, be consistent in using the quotes, it is recommended to use them wisely and consistently. If you use double quotes for one attribute, you have to use them also for the other attributes.

<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www...."><img src="blabla.png" alt="InterServer Web Hosting and VPS"></a>

I tested it and it is working, when I used the correct hook.
