my website is sedd.co.za and when I upload a new image its not reduced to the desired thumbnail size of 200 x 200 when browsing with a computer. so it becomes big in size even though I did the settings on the upload module. ie when using a phone it automatically reshapes the image successfully

The 200X200 size is obsolete. The only size that is configured in the code of the module is the full width of the story content area, with a max-width set. (that was decided based on the majority wanting the image to cover the story content width as it is in all the blogs.

.storycontent img {
max-width: 720px;
margin-top: 5px;
padding-bottom: 5px;
padding: 2px 10px 0 10px;
}

I don't see this css rule in your source code. You must have changed the css or the template files, and that's why the image is overlaping the vote button and taking the full width of the column rather than the story content.

okay thanks. but about the overlapping image thats because I chose a different location for it on the "Where to embed story thumbnails.
Default is 'upload_story_thumb_custom', meaning no place:" option on the upload module

Obviously, to display the uploaded image you have to select a placement from the dropdown, because if you leave it upload_story_thumb_custom it won't display.

So, the overlapping has nothing to do with what you said. It is related t0 some missing css rules, as I described above. This rule is not loaded to restrict the width of the image, hence the overlapping!
